Last day of holidays

A great community park in Montrose was great fun for the kids - lots of areas to play - not so good for chatting as it is big and high - but still good.
Then off to Lilydale Lake, celebrating the glorious autumn weather


and a little dance to celebrate the end of school holidays for another term!!!!

Hooked

While camping we were tutored in crocheting. To practice I started a scarf based very loosely on Myrtle and Eunice's scrappy scarf. See, very loose. I did make it a bit long, in fact over three meters - whoops. At least it makes for good wrapping.

It was a little belated birthday gift for Kirsty, who we met in the renovated Dorset Park today for a play.

Even her little man got into to things- along with a gazillion other mums with the same school holiday idea.

Picnicing

We took an opportunity with a warm evening to eat dinner by the seaside. We packed the twins in the car (we were down one who was having a super spy sleepover at MrP's) We headed off down to the beach.We found a great playground which was set up like the sea and another set of twins to play with. We sat on our picnic rug and tried to look at the clouds but there were none but there was beautiful sunshine. Made for some lovely pictures with unwilling participants.

A maze me

An impromtu drive up the hill (in the people mover with Mum and Dad) turned into a really nice day. We went up to Sky High in Mt Dandenong and I met up with a girlfriend along the way.

The view is amazing, but funnily enough, kids aren't really into that. There was a hedge maze and some lovely gardens. A bit on the expensive side - you pay park entry, and then extra for the maze and the coffee shop/restaurant are slow and pricy, but still a lovely day.

After exploring the park, we went back to Kirsty's house where she managed to feed us home made soup and fresh bread. A really enjoyable day.

Sunday Funday Returns!

Its seems to have been ages since we have really done serious family fun on our Sunday, but with the weather warming up, we were out to enjoy the day. We went out to Dorset Arboretum in FTG and it was great. The park area is enclosed with different skill levels in the wooden play area. Then there is a lovely garden and path around a lake. We took the bikes and my parents and had a lovely morning.

What a park!

No today is not about carparking - but free entertainment. You have to love a good park and there are more of these quality parks being created, but today I certainly visited one of note. Womat Park is in Finn's Reserve of Union Street in Templestowe. Such a good park. It meets many of my criteria

1. totally fenced
2. has toilets - which are right next to the park, not only are they part of the area, but they are family toilets big enough to get a double pram in and they have changing facilities. You could easily take a toilet training toddler here!!
3. has a variety of activities including seats for disabled children.
4. a concrete path through/around - great for a pram or bikes
5. the ability to see right through the park.

The little acorns are 4.5 and now 18months and they all had a great time with their mates who are the same age. It was a really lovely day - Nay and I could let the kids burn all their energy and we could have a chat. The only thing missing was a latte! No cafe here but the pub is close.
